Are almond slices good for you?

Yes! Almonds are rich in magnesium, vitamin E, and protein. Almonds are a great snack to help control blood sugar and they can lower cholesterol levels. Although we can’t get enough of almonds, it is good to eat everything in moderation. Just fitting 1 oz or 20 almonds into your diet each day can help set you on the right track.

Are sliced almonds raw?

Although they can be raw, the majority of sliced almonds are sold roasted. You can also buy sliced almonds in a variety of flavors, but the majority of retailers sell them salted.

Can you slice your own almonds?

Yes you can! However, this can be an arduous and and painstaking process as your almonds will likely break or crumble. It is especially hard to get those perfect, thin slices, but it is always worth a shot. One quick tip is to boil them in hot water and then cut them so they do not crumble as easily. Additionally, Marcona almonds are typically larger and higher quality allowing you to more easily cut them compared to other almonds.

How long do sliced almonds last?

If they are sealed well, almonds can have a shelf life of up to 2 years. Many have suggested that refrigerating or freezing your almonds can help improve their lifespan. We suggest that you keep them sealed at room temperature and buy enough almonds that you think you can finish within a year.
